Graft case against 14 accused in Limpopo postponed to next year

Fourteen people accused of fraud and corruption will be back in the Polokwane Special Commercial Crimes Court in Limpopo in January next year.

They include former African National Congress (ANC) member of the provincial legislature, Tally Mashamaite and former Mogalakwena mayor, Andrina Matsemela.

They are facing 107 fraud and corruption charges involving a R15 million tender.

Thirteen companies have also been charged after they were allegedly paid money for work that was never done between 2016 and 2019.

The matter has been postponed because Magistrate Matlaba Kganyago was not available due to ill health.

One of the accused was also not present in court due to ill health.

Meanwhile, one of the accused in the court case has since died.
