The building housed 11 government departments that have since been relocated to other government buildings. Some employees are working from home.
Investigations are yet to commence as the building is deemed unsafe to enter. Briefing the media in KuGompo City, the department’s MEC Siphokazi Mani-Lusithi called for patience.

“The primary objective of this intervention is to minimise disruption to service delivery, protect the welfare of employees and ensure that the community can access the essential public services. In addition, consultative engagements have been held with role players and representatives across all affected departments. Recognising that the temporary relocation arrangements may have implications for working conditions”, explains Mani-Lusithi.
