Golden Walk Mall in Germiston temporarily closed due to heavy rain


Some roads and businesses including Golden Walk Mall in Germiston have been temporarily closed following heavy rains that hit parts of Ekurhuleni in Gauteng.

Emergency and traffic personnel have been deployed to monitor the situation and no casualties reported so far.

Meanwhile, thee N3 North bound in Bedfordview in Ekurhuleni has been partially opened to traffic following a collision involving two trucks due to the rain.  Ekurhuleni Metro Police spokesperson, Katlego Mphahlele has warned motorists to be extra careful.

“In the Bedfordview area there’s a serious accident after Van Beeren Road. Two trucks are involved and trapped inside. A helicopter and emergency personnel have been deployed. The freeway will be temporarily closed to allow landing. motorists are advised to approach the area with extreme caution or use Van Beeren Road off ramp as an alternative. Stay safe and stay alive on the road.”
