Godongwana leads SA delegation to 2026 WEF meeting

World leaders in government, business and civil society are gathering in Davos, Switzerland, for this week’s annual meeting, being held under the theme “A spirit of dialogue”.

Team South Africa, led by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana says the message they are taking to the world at this year’s summit is more positive than last year.

Brand SA chairperson Ipeleng Selele, who is in Davos for the World Economic Forum, says: “Minister Godongwana is leading our delegation, and we are here to simply tell the world that we came here last year, we communicated where we are with regards to our national reforms. We are here this year to share the status of where we are, the good progress that we have made, and most importantly, to have proof points, particularly around infrastructure.”

“As you know, and you might have noticed, the progress that Transnet is making, also Minister of Electricity is here with us, with the Eskom team, they’re also going to be talking about the reforms. I mean, the progress that they’ve made, and, of course, are busy meeting with investors, engaging with investors.”
