National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola says Crime Intelligence Head General Dumisani Khumalo is receiving the best medical care after falling sick on Wednesday morning.
Masemola says Khumalo felt unwell after arriving at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College in Pretoria.
Masemola says the Madlanga Commission will be kept abreast of all developments about his condition and when he will be available to continue with his testimony.
The commission’s spokesperson Jeremy Michaels says that the inquiry will advise on the next sitting date.
“I think it’s very important for us to say that the hearing was scheduled to start at 9:30 there is nothing out of the ordinary expect that General Khumalo is not feeling well and of course, Justice Madlanga took the decision to adjourn for the day instead.”
The Madlanga of Inquiry is investigating allegations of criminality, political interference, and corruption in the criminal justice system.
