Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya testifying at the Madlanga Commission.
Cross-examination of suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya will continue at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria on Friday.
General Sibiya has been grilled on his role and conduct in the disbandment of the political killings task team (PKTT).
The PKTT was disbanded in December 2024 by Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.
General Sibiya testified that both National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola and PKTT project leader, General Dumisani Khumalo did not indicate that they did not support the PKTT disbandment.
This is despite testimony from Generals Masemola and Khumalo stating that the dissolution of the PKTT caught them by surprise.
The PKTT disbandment, which has been deemed as unlawful is at the centre of corruption allegations at the Madlanga Commission.
The Commission is investigating allegations of political interference and the infiltration of alleged criminal syndicates in law enforcement agencies.
