Gauteng introduces programme to boost traffic flow and safety

The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport has launched the Points Person of the Future Programme. It is aimed at improving traffic management and road safety across the province.

The department says the programme will introduce traffic points personnel equipped with body cameras and digital reporting tools to enhance response times and commuter safety.

MEC Kedibone Diale-Tlabela has warned that vandalism and theft at intersections will not be tolerated.

β€œIt’s important to continue developing yourselves, developing your skills. This is to jack you up, but also this is contribution to the people of Gauteng and to the whole country because being there on the road in your colours can assist someone to arrive home alive. So, your job is quite critical. You are very important to us. We are happy with this partnership.”

The department will be working with Monasi Traffic Controlling.
