NSRI members during a rescue
1 minute
A family of three from Gauteng has been rescued after being swept out to sea at Sandstrand, Jongensfontein near Stilbaai in the Western Cape.
The National Sea Rescue Institute says eyewitness reports indicate that the couple and their teenage daughter were caught in rip currents.
The institute’s Stilbaai Station Commander, Stefan Grove, says the woman was found unconscious.
He says lifeguards treated her before taking her to a doctor.
