Gauteng Community Safety issues warning against fake job adverts

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety has issued a warning about fraudulent job advertisements circulating on social media and fake websites.

The adverts target applicants for the Gauteng Traffic Warden and Traffic Police programmes.

Members of the public are urged to ignore information from unofficial sources as it may be inaccurate or misleading.

Department spokesperson Ofentse Morwane says submitting applications through fake sites could compromise personal information and pose a risk to the safety of individuals.

“Vacancies in the department are exclusively advertised through the official Department of Public Service and Administration circular and the Gauteng Provincial Government professional job centre platform. Any vacancies that do not appear on these official platforms must be considered as suspicious and potentially fraudulent.”
