Panel discussion at the Forum
Vice-President of the G20 Interfaith Forum Katherine Marshall says discussions held at the meeting in Cape Town, will help shape practical measures to hold global powers accountable for their actions.
Religious leaders from around the world discussed plans to confront many of the world’s challenges at the gathering.
Focus areas included food security, poverty and ongoing conflicts around the world.
The Forum also provides a platform to address inter-religious tensions through education and enhancing the understanding of religious matters.
Marshall was speaking during the closing session.
“This is a moment when we can be transformational. The crisis is danger and opportunity of compassion, grace and spirit and finally empowerment and inspiration. Those I think are some of the thoughts that echo as we move away from talk and the need for dialogue and learning from each other, to action.”
