G20 conference at Sun City to focus on women economic empowerment

The Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities and the Tshwane University of Technology Centre for Entrepreneurship Development are expected to host the G20 Financial Inclusion Conference.

It will start today in Rustenburg in the North West.

The second Technical Meeting on the Empowerment of Women Working Group in Sun City will follow the two-day conference.

The G20 countries will assemble at Sun City, to unpack different subjects on women empowerment.

The financial inclusion conference is expected to hear engagements on the advancement of financial inclusion of women, advancing women economic empowerment and financial literacy of women.

With South Africa hosting the G20 presidency from December until November 2026, the Technical Meeting on the Empowerment of Women working group is also expected to take place on Thursday and Friday.
