In KwaZulu-Natal, one person was killed and fifty others were injured in a bus collision on the P66 between Gingindlovu and Eshowe.
The passengers of a bus which collided with two vehicles on the N1 near Mookgophong in Limpopo today say they are still traumatised.
Two people died and one injured person was rushed to hospital.
The bus was travelling from Harare, Zimbabwe to Durban.
Traffic authorities say a sedan lost control and collided with an on-coming bus which also lost control and hit another vehicle.
A driver of the sedan and a passenger succumbed to their injuries on the scene. The bus driver and the driver of the bakkie were transported to the hospital with injuries.
The second bus driver says all bus commuters escaped without any injuries.

Passenger Reason Mhlanga gave an account of what transpired.
“It’s a bit traumatising because almost everyone was sleeping and only few people could actually witness what had happened. I think everyone woke up when the bus went down the slope so it’s a bit traumatising because there were kids in the bus, and everyone was not expecting this whole incident. I just woke up, I heard people screaming and then I look at the road and saw that the bus was out of the road. I was in shock and panicked. I thought the bus was going to catch fire, then I opened the window so that we could be safe if the bus catch fire.”
Another passenger Farai Nderere, passenger recalled waking up.

Limpopo transport department says an over speeding and fatigue are the possible causes of the accident. The investigations are still continuing.
Meanwhile, the N1 south of Koppies towards Kroonstad in the Free State has been reopened to traffic following this morning’s crash involving a minibus and a truck.
Ten people lost their lives. The N1 from Kroonstad and Parys had to be diverted while Emergency Medical Services were still attending to the scene.
EMS spokesperson Sipho Towa says only one person from the minibus survived the crash as well as the truck driver.
