Motorists travelling on the N1 through the Free State have been encouraged to access health services at a filling station
near Bloemfontein.

The provincial Health Department has called on motorists to take rest breaks during their journeys to various destinations.

This is part of the department’s Road Safety Campaign which is targeting motorists at major filling stations.

Provincial Director of the HIV/AIDS programme, Ouma Rametsi, says the campaign is also promoting healthy sexual lifestyles.

“The services that we are providing is screen services and also if people have forgotten their medication, they are able to come to our mobile clinics here to request the medication that they are taking, if it is available with us. But the idea is to encourage people to be safe on the road and also act responsibly. As we are on the road, we need to make sure that we are safe and we act responsibly in terms of conducting ourselves”.
