SAPS alert for missing Onkarabetse Leeuw
The body of five-year-old Onkarabetse Leeuw has been found on the outskirts of Glen Location near Bloemfontein in the Free State.
Police spokesperson Thabo Covane says the child was reported missing on Saturday.
Covane says a 29-year-old woman, who is also the deceased’s aunt, has been arrested for kidnapping and murder.
“The police search team found the lifeless body of 5-year-old boy Onkarabetse Leeuw, who was reported missing by his mother on Saturday, 8th November 2025. The body of young Onkarabetse was found on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, covered under a carton box in thick vegetation on the southern outskirts of Glen location. At about 20 past 4 in the afternoon, a case of kidnapping and murder was registered at Glenn Police Station. The police also arrested the 29-year-old aunt, who is expected to appear in Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court soon.”

Free State MEC for Community Safety, Roads and Transport, Jabu Mbalula, has extended his condolences to the Leeuw family in Glen following the tragic deaths of two children.
Three-year-old Katleho Leeuw’s body was found in bushes near Glen on the 25th of October, two days after she was reported missing. Her uncle was arrested and charged with her murder.
Five-year-old Onkarabetse Leeuw’s body was found today in a bush outside Glen.
MEC Mbalula says the police are working tirelessly to determine the circumstances surrounding the children’s deaths and the involvement of their relatives.
