[FILE IMAGE]: A crime scene cordoned off.
Police say four suspects broke into a business’ premises near Cape Town International Airport and stole precious metals worth an estimated R200 million. Police Spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi says the suspects destroyed a fence and entered the cargo section, where they accessed a vault.
Swartbooi says they fled with bags containing precious metals.
“The suspects wore balaclavas and had their hands covered with gloves. They fled the scene in an unknown direction. Anyone who can shed light on the circumstances of this incident or who can assist with leads to trace and ultimately arrest the suspects is kindly requested to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or alternatively use the MySAPS application anonymously,” Swartbooi adds.
