Four people have been shot dead at a venue believed to be a tavern in Harare, Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats.
Western Cape Police Spokesperson André Traut says one other person was wounded.
He says the victims were watching a soccer match at the premises when four armed men opened fire on them.
Traut says, “It is reported that the suspects arrived at the residence where several patrons were gathered in a yard watching a soccer match when they opened fire on the group. Four victims aged between 30 and 38 died as a result of the shooting, while a 59-year-old victim sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment. The suspects fled the scene on foot and are yet to be arrested.”
