Four members of a family gunned down in KZN, police hunt for four men

Police in KwaZulu-Natal have launched a manhunt for four armed men who shot and killed four members of a family at their home near Mdweshule, near Port Shepstone on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.

Police say an eyewitness said the men, armed with firearms and a bush knife, broke down the door of a rondavel in which she and her partner were on Wednesday evening.

Police spokesperson Lt. Col. Paul Magwaza says, “The suspects demanded money and when they were told that there was no money, they began firing shots at her 45-year-old fiancé, which unfortunately left him deceased.”

“The suspects then instructed her to show them where the other members of the family were sleeping, which she did. When the suspects got to the main house, they shot dead a mother and two daughters, aged between 31 and 76. The suspects then fled the scene, taking with them two cellphones,” adds Magwaza.
