A broken windscreen.
Four people have died and two others injured following a head-on collision on the R23 road between Standerton and Pardekop in Mpumalanga.
All the deceased were occupants of a sedan and the two injured were traveling in a light delivery vehicle.
Spokesperson for the Department of Safety, Security and Liaison in Mpumalanga Moeti Mmusi has urged motorists to be cautious on the road as traffic volumes are expected to increase again on major routes.
“The case remains a subject of investigation. The Mpumalanga Department of Community, Security and Liaison MEC Jackie Macie said that the loss is tragic to the families and a huge blow to the community. He warns that reckless driving and failure to obey the rules were burdening the state as well as the insurance companies because they always have to make hefty payouts to claims. He therefore urged road users to adhere to the rules and stay alert and also to concentrate fully every time they are on the road to avoid deadly crashes such as this one.”
