Four people lost their lives after their bus lost control
Northern Cape police are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal bus crash that claimed the lives of four passengers today.
The crash happened when a long-distance bus that was traveling from Johannesburg lost control and overturned on a bridge between Britstown and Victoria West.
Provincial Police Spokesperson Cherelle Ehlers says, “Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of an Intercity bus lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently overtuned at a bridge. The bus was carrying a total of 42 passengers at the time of the incident. Tragically, four passengers, two adult males and two adult females were declared deceased at the scene. Eight other passengers sustained serious injuries including one adult male, six adult females and a female infant. An additional 30 passengers sustained minor injuries,” says Ehlers.
