A 66-year-old former soldier and parolee is due to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on Monday for murder.
The man allegedly ran over and killed his 56-year-old girlfriend during an argument in Seshego Zone 3 outside Polokwane in Limpopo.
Police say he fled the scene but was later arrested following a joint police operation.
The suspect, a repeat offender of gender-based violence, was released on parole in 2022 after serving part of a life sentence for the murder of three women.

Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says at the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly residing with the deceased at her parental home in Seshego Zone 3.
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, expressed deep heartbreak over the continued killing of women by their intimate partners.
“She described it as deeply troubling and despicable that a parolee is alleged to have committed another violent crime, emphasising that women continue to be brutally murdered by those they trust. Lieutenant General Hadebe stressed that parolees are expected to strictly comply with the conditions of their release and warned that any violation of the law will be dealt with decisively.”
