Former JMPD chief David Tembe to be laid to rest


The funeral of the former chief of the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), David Tembe, will take place this Saturday morning at the Johannesburg Central College in Fourways, Johannesburg.

Tembe died this week, after he was found unresponsive in his home.

The exact cause of death is not known yet.

Tembe was the former chief of the JMPD, chief of the National Traffic Police, Strategic Advisor, and former Member of the Mayoral Committee for Public Safety.

He is remembered for his extensive career in public safety, which began as a paramedic in 1981.
