Former DA federal chairperson Errol Moorcroft has died


A former federal chairperson of the Democratic Alliance, Errol Moorcroft has passed away.

He retired from politics in 2004 and returned to his farm near Adelaide in the Eastern Cape.

Moorcroft’s political career started when was elected as the Progressive Federal Party member for Albany in 1981.

He later he became a member of the senate in 1994.

He succeeded Ken Andrew as the federal chairperson in 1997, returning to the National Assembly in 1999.

DA leader John Steenhuisen says the party is saddened by the loss of a servant of the democratic journey and a respected figure in the DA.

Steenhuisen also conveyed his condolences to the Moorcroft family.
