Five killed in Mpumalanga head-on collision

Five people have lost their lives following a head-on collision involving a light delivery vehicle and a sport utility vehicle on the N4 toll road between Belfast and Machadodorp in Mpumalanga this afternoon.

The provincial spokesperson for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi says three other people were seriously injured.

Mmusi says members of the emergency services are already at the scene.

“It is believed that the inclement weather may have caused this accident. Motorists travelling towards the direction are advised to consider using alternative routes because at this stage the road is still closed. We do not have an idea how long it’s going to be closed.”
