Five people, believed to be members of the same family, have died in a head-on collision at Umzumbe on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast.
Authorities say the crash involving a light motor vehicle and a seven-seater minibus happened on the N2 before the Umzumbe River bridge on Friday night.
The Road Traffic Inspectorate says three children and two adults, believed to be the mother and father, died instantly.
Four other occupants in the two vehicles were injured.
