The registration of first-year students is underway at the University of Limpopo in Mankweng outside Polokwane.
The university’s spokesperson, Victor Kgomoeswana says applicants facing technical glitches due to congestion on the online system should exercise patience.
Kgomoeswana says the university received more than 300,000 applications and that 5,000 will be registered.
“When you have high traffic, you inevitably await running technical glitches but I can tell you we have already exceeded the 700 mark in terms of registrations of first entering students. That means new students who are using the same online system will have glitches here and there. You know I’m sure with the telecommunications system in South Africa we are not the most robust of them all, but the system is working,” says Kgomoeswana.
