A fire has broken out at a factory building in the Johannesburg CBD.
Johannesburg Emergency Services spokesperson, Nana Radebe-Kgiba says they received a call at about 10pm about a building on fire.
Radebe-Kgiba says, “On arrival we found that the two-story building was in fact on fire. The fire had already reached the second floor of the building. We can confirm that it is not a residential building. We were told that the building is used for storing clothing. A security guard managed to call emergency services. We are currently fighting the blaze. We are not sure how long it will take to put it out.”
Radebe-Kgiba says no one was inside the building at the time of the blaze.
She says the cause of the fire is being investigated.
