Fire at Randburg office park results in partial building collapse

Emergency Services in Johannesburg are responding to a fire at an office park on West Avenue in Randburg.

The call was received at around 5:30am and firefighters rushed to the scene.

A section of the building has completely collapsed but no injuries have been reported.

The emergency services say fire inspectors will begin their investigation once firefighting operations are complete.

EMS Media Liaison Officer Xolile Khumalo says crews are still on site.

“EMS firefighters are currently responding to a fire incident on 417 West Avenue Road in Randburg. The call was received at half past five and EMS firefighters rushed to this incident. The room of an office park has completely collapsed during this incident, and no injuries have been reported. EMS inspectors will conduct their investigation as soon as all firefighting operations have been completed.”
