Limpopo MEC for Finance Kgabo Mahoai
Limpopo MEC for Finance Kgabo Mahoai has tabled the province’s mid-year Adjustment Appropriation Bill at the Lebowakgomo Legislative Chambers.
Funding for all provincial departments have been adjusted upwards from R81 billion to just above R83 billion.
Mahoai says Treasury will closely monitor the performance of each of the provincial departments.
“The net effect of all these adjustments is that the provincial allocation to departments and public entities is adjusted upwards from R81 billion to R83.946 billion. Honourable Speaker, it is important to highlight that these adjustments followed a rigorous assessment of the expenditure performance,” says Mahoai.
Meanwhile, Mahoai says the provincial Treasury has decided to set aside R50 million to help intervene in the embattled Thabazimbi Local Municipality, after it was placed under administration.
“The additional Equitable Share resources include R50 million for Human Settlement Infrastructure projects, a once-off allocation of R50 million to support the S139 intervention at Thabazimbi Municipality.”
