A fifth suspect in the murder of a senior Prasa official is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court this coming week.
Khethukuthula Mthethwa was arrested by Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit detectives, and made a brief court appearance on Friday.
Mthethwa and four others are accused of killing Prasa Regional Manager Jacob Khoaele.
Khoaele was shot dead in Durban on the 22nd of January this year.
Reports say that’s after he refused to approve tender payment for work done by a particular company.
Police Spokesperson Robert Netsiunda, says, “The fifth suspect, Mlungisi Khethukuthula Mthethwa, was arrested on 14 October 2025 and appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court the following day. He was found with the vehicle that was spotted fleeing from the scene of crime after the murder was committed. He will be appear again in court on 24 October for formal bail application.”
