The State has added a fifth suspect to the attempted murder case involving actress Tebogo Thobejane. According to the National Prosecution Authority (NPA), Nthabiseng Nzama briefly appeared in the Alexandra magistrates’ court on Monday, in connection with allegations of facilitating fund transfers between accounts, while fully aware that the money originated from the proceeds of crime.
The NPA spokesperson in Gauteng, Phindi Mjonondwane, said Nzama was granted bail of R10 000 and will appear in court again on the 26th of August, alongside her co-accused.
In a separate case, four accused, Michael Pule Tau, Katiso Molefe, Tiego Floyd Mabusela and Musa Kekana also made their first appearance at the Alexandra Magistrates’ court.
They were arrested in connection with the November 2022 murder of Oupa John Sefoka, also known as DJ Sumbody, in Woodmead, Johannesburg.
Mabusela and Kekana were already in custody for the case involving the attempted murder of Thobejane when they were linked to the current charges.
“The accused were arrested following allegations that they’re hitmen, one of them allegedly ordering the murder of Sefoka during the commission of the offences…the case was postponed to 29 July 2025 to allow the state time to profile the accused who has applied for bail,” says Gauteng NPA Spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.
