While the festive season is known for packed beaches and sunny days along the Eastern Cape coast, it’s also a crucial period for local businesses.
In Summerstrand, in Gqeberha, the influx of holidaymakers has brought a welcome boost for informal traders and service providers operating along the beachfront.
Beachside vendors, Lukhanyo Lulolo and Samkelo Mdingi say this festive season has been more lucrative than before.
One vendor says this festive season was different as they made more money compared to when they started working there three years ago.
