A 43-year-old female crop duster pilot has died when a helicopter crashed at the Roodegrond farm in Patensie, Eastern Cape.
Police spokesperson Majola Nkohli says the incident happened earlier on Monday, while the pilot was spraying crop.
“It is alleged that a 43 year old female crop duster pilot died instantly when the Robinson helicopter crashed after hitting power lines. It is believed that the freak incident occurred at about quarter to eight this morning. The identity of the deceased pilot is withheld until a formal identification process is concluded.”
