South African Police Service constable
The families of the three Free State police constables whose bodies were retrieved from the Hennops River in Centurion will travel to Gauteng today to fetch their bodies.
The families have confirmed that Constables Boipelo Senoge and Linda Cebekhulu will be buried on Thursday and Friday respectively in Bloemfontein while Constable Keamogetswe Buys will be buried on Saturday next week in Thaba Nchu.
The trio went missing on the 23rd of April after they left Bloemfontein on their way to Limpopo where Buys and Linda were based. The search for the missing constables ended when their bodies and later parts of the vehicle they were travelling in were recovered from the river.
A joint memorial service will be held in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old female police officer has been found dead in Langa on the Cape Flats.
Police spokesperson Novela Potelwa says the officer was discovered in her vehicle close to a primary school with gunshot wounds.
Potelwa says she left her home in Kraaifontein on Friday night after knocking off duty and headed to an evening church service.
She says a murder investigation has been opened and no arrests have been made.
