A 42-year-old man from Slovo Park near Phuthaditjhaba in the Free State has handed himself to the police for the alleged murder of his 38-year-old girlfriend over the weekend.
Police Spokesperson Mmako Mophiring says the police verified the information, and upon arrival at the suspect’s place, they discovered the lifeless body of the woman, who had sustained multiple bruises to the face.
He says the emergency medical personnel declared woman dead at the scene.
“Yes, there was an altercation that took place between the two due to infidelity, and this altercation led to a fight. In this fight that is where, unfortunately, she became unconscious, and she died. She was certified dead today by the emergency personnel, but the suspect handed himself over to the police and has been charged with murder.”
