Eskom’s top brass says they are confident that the festive season and even next winter will be without any load shedding.
The utility’s top management and board members briefed Parliament’s Electricity and Energy Committee on its performance and its finances for the 2024/25 financial year.
According to Eskom management, sustained period of no load shedding is due to increased generation performance.
Eskom’s CEO Dan Marokane says the grid is stable, “What does the summer plan look like? We are doing very well, in relation to even base case assumptions for summer plan. We anticipate to continue on this run of keeping the lights on with no interruptions and can also indicate whilst also doing maintenance on the right levels to ensure next year’s winter is also as seamless.”
