Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has been appointed Acting President for a week, following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s upcoming international visits.
His second in command Paul Mashatile will be on leave during this period.
President Ramaphosa will undertake a three-nation visit to Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia, where he will participate in a Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Thereafter, he will undertake a state visit to Switzerland.
The Presidency says the visits are aimed at advancing the country’s bilateral relations with the respective host countries in trade and investment.
