A 75-year-old woman has been murdered in her house in Hanover Park on the Cape Flats.
Police spokesperson, Joseph Swartbooi, says the killing happened during a robbery.
He says the deceased’s son discovered her body when he returned from work.
“The victim aged 75 was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. According to reports, the son of the deceased found the victim on the bed with her face on the pillow and the house in disarray. Philippi police are investigating cases of murder and house robbery.”
In a separate incident reported yesterday, two men were gunned down and killed while another was wounded in Khayelitsha.
Police said officers found the bodies of the two men with gunshot wounds in the latest incident.
More than 20 people have been killed in a series of shooting incidents across the Cape Flats in the past few weeks.
