The City of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has assured residents of Leondale that its technicians are working to restore power to their area.
Residents took to the streets yesterday to demand the restoration of electricity supply to their area. They say they are dealing with damaged appliances and rotting food.
Municipal spokesperson Zweli Dlamini says: “Our technicians are actually attending to the problem. They’ve been there since last night. They were disrupted by the rain obviously. But they’ve returned there this morning. They are still trying to locate the fault. And we are doing our best as the city to ensure that power is restored to the area as soon as possible.”
The Leondale community has urged authorities to provide immediate solutions to the power supply issues.
