Eastern Cape Premier, Oscar Mabuyane, has urged road users to exercise extreme caution following the crash between a minibus taxi and a bakkie that claimed 15 lives on the R63 between Adelaide and Maqoma.

Mabuyane has sent his condolences to the bereaved families.

“He has extended well wishes to those who have been injured and now receiving medical treatment. The Premier has called all road users to exercise maximum caution and remain vigilant on the road. Different stakeholders with the government are coordinating support for affected families and will continue to engage with stakeholders to enhance road safety awareness and monitoring on high-risk roads,” says Provincial Government Spokesperson, Khuselwa Rantjie.
