Eastern Cape healthcare couple gunned down in Lusikisiki

Two Eastern Cape healthcare workers were shot dead in Lusikisiki on Wednesday night. According to reports, the couple was stationed at St Elizabeth Hospital.

Eastern Cape health MEC Ntandokazi Capa has expressed shock at the incident and called for an investigation into the matter.

Provincial health spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo says, “MEC Capa has expressed shock following the killing of two health care workers who were stationed at St Elizabeth Hospital in Lusikisiki. The couple was working at St Elizabeth hospital as a professional nurse and another one as a manager responsible for HR. The circumstances surrounding the death of these two employees are not yet known. The MEC has sent her heartfelt condolences to their colleagues and families.”
