A District Development Model workshop under the banner: “All of Society” and “All of Government” has just kicked off at the Coega Conference Centre, Nelson Mandela Bay.
The Eastern Cape government has highlighted the importance of planning in its efforts to improve its delivery of basic services. It is hosting a two-day District Development Model engagement in Gqeberha.
The platform will tackle key challenges hindering municipalities’ delivery of basic services.
Provincial government spokesperson Khuselwa Ratjie says the engagement is about bringing government, civil society, stakeholders, and traditional leaders together in order to plan government work.
“You will understand that the Premier has tabled a 5-year strategy, now we need to nationalise that strategy. We say that within this financial year, what are some of the things that would be done by government working together with civil society and some of the businesses.”
