E Cape siblings to appear in court for murder of brother


Police have arrested two siblings for the murder of their brother in Mqanduli, Eastern Cape.

The two brothers allegedly assaulted and murdered their elder brother when they found him raping their 15-year-old niece on Saturday night.

Police discovered the body of the deceased on Sunday morning. The suspects are expected to make their first court appearance on Monday.

Police spokesperson, Welile Matyolo explains, “The two brothers accused their elder brother, aged 39 years, of raping their 15-year-old niece when they all arrived home from a local tavern. They then tied his hands with a rope and kept him in a locked rondavel house on Saturday night and the elder brother was found dead on Sunday morning at about 8h00. Mqanduli police arrested the two brothers and charged them with murder.”
