Dunga’s appointment to advance people-centred fiscal agenda: EFF

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has described the appointment of its Gauteng Chairperson, Nkululeko Dunga, as Finance MEC as a step towards strengthening governance in the province.

Premier Panyaza Lesufi announced the appointment during his cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday night.

Former Finance MEC Lebogang Maile will now head the Education Department, replacing Matome Chiloane.

EFF National Spokesperson Sinawo Thambo says they are confident that the appointment will advance a people-centred fiscal agenda that will focus on the delivery of basic services.

Thambo says, “We’re being in charge of stabilising the finances of the province and ensuring that services are provided to the people of the province of Gauteng moving forward.”

He says, “So we’re very pleased as the party today and we look forward to ensuring that we’ll participate fully in this government.”
