Dr Ramokgopa unveils new science laboratories in Atteridgeville

Electricity Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has unveiled new science laboratories in four schools in Atteridgeville, outside Pretoria. He has also called on the youth to pursue their studies in mathematics, science and technology.

This is a public-private partnership where companies such as the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (NECSA) and the Chinese tech giant Huawei have donated equipment and technology.

Speaking at his former high school, Ramokgopa urges learners to help South Africa be competitive in the changing environment of AI, satellite communications and the rapidly growing online economy.

“We are pledging solidarity with you. All we want is the best of you, so we are saying that science is the future. If you invest in your studies, the sky is not the limit. The future suggests that science, technology and innovation are the ones that are going to be the new frontiers of development in the world.”
