A Soweto man has described how he battled to rescue members of his family after their double-story property collapsed in Doornkop, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Three of his relatives including a child died after being trapped under the rubble.
Three others were rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital.
Zweli Nzima says he was woken up by a sound and screams for help.
Nzima says, “When I went outside, there was a lot of dust everywhere and I tried to assist by pulling people out. I managed to rescue a four-year-old and another girl who is 22 before calling for help, and community members responded and came to assist, and then ambulances and police were called to the scene.”
