The Polokwane Municipality in Limpopo has confirmed reports of discoloured water affecting some households at Seshego Zone 2.
Some unhappy residents have gathered outside the Polokwane municipal offices holding placards.
In a statement, the municipality says water quality tests and technical investigations are underway.
It further says it has deployed water tankers to provide temporary relief.
