Minister of Higher Education and Training, Buti Manamela
Higher Education and Training Minister Buti Manamela says the National Skills Fund’s Connect Digital System will significantly strengthen transparency in the way public funds are spent.
The system was launched in Centurion, Gauteng, on Thursday night.
Manamela says it is part of the fund’s ongoing transformation.
“Hopefully into the new financial year once the system is fully in place and all four systems have been implemented, meaning that we now are able to track learners, we are able to integrate with Home Affairs and with payment platforms and systems so this I believe will go a long way in relieving the pressures around governance, around accountability but also make the performance of the national skills fund even much better.”
