Deputy Transport Minister Mkhuleko Hlengwa
Deputy Transport Minister Mkhuleko Hlengwa is expected to meet with the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leadership in Moria, east of Polokwane in Limpopo.
Their meeting will be on the road safety campaign ahead of the Easter holidays.
Congregants across the country will be travelling to different provinces for Easter services, which is set to cause heavy traffic on the roads.
A hawker along the R71 road near the ZCC headquarters in Moria says the Easter gatherings help them put food on the table as the pilgrims are their customers.
Thousands of pilgrims are expected to converge at the ZCC and Saint Engenas ZCC headquarters, both in Moria, for the Easter conference.
John Manaka says he stocked enough supplies to cater for the customers.
“I’m very excited because during this time, we get more customers than usual. People are travelling, they stop to buy food, drinks, and snacks as they go to Moria to celebrate their easter holiday. It really helps me make enough money to support the family.”
