The Defense ministry has conveyed condolences to the family of the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) member whose body was retrieved from the flooded Nkomazi river near Komatipoort in Mpumalanga on Friday by police divers.

The tragic incident occurred during their operation Corona at Macadamia when the members were attempting to cross a river from Komatipoort to the Lebombo Border Post. According to reports, the vehicle they were traveling in was swept away at the lower bridge. One of the victims is still missing and the search will resume this Saturday morning after being suspended on Friday night.
