Defence attorney at the Meyiwa trial
Defence witness Absolom Zungu says the signature on a statement said to be submitted to Senzo Meyiwa murder lead investigator Brigadier Bongani Gininda does not resemble his.
Zungu is the second witness called by the defence to come and testify at the High Court in Pretoria where five men are on trial for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.
It’s alleged Zungu mentioned that accused one Muzi Sibiya and accused two Bongani Ntanzi were linked to the murder of the soccer star.
When shown the signature at the end of the statement, Zungu said it was not his.
Zungu: My Lord I would say if that now that he’s a signature the same, it means that something or someone needs something, is not common or usual. My Lord there’s a word that the accused used ubugebengu which means corruption.
Mnisi: That your signature is not the one appearing on the document that Brigadier Gininda said you prepared. That’s what you are basically saying.
